2010 Spring Conference "Executive Functioning"

The Maryland Council for Exceptional Children is pleased to present its 2010 Spring Conference titled: Executive Functioning.

According to Dr. Russell Barkley, executive functions are the actions we perform to ourselves and direct at ourselves so as to accomplish self-control, goal-directed behavior, and the maximization of future outcomes." Attendees will learn the neuropsychology behind executive functioning as well as strategies and techniques to improve executive dysfunctions within the classroom and in everyday life.

Keynote Speaker: Donna Lauerhahs
Ms. Lauerhahs is a Music Special Educator and Infant/Toddler Teacher at H. Winship Wheatley Early Childhood Center in Prince George's County. She is also the 2009 Maryland CEC Special Educator of the Year.

This event is sponsored by the Maryland Council for Exceptional Children, the Maryland Council for Learning Disabilities, and the Towson University-Universities at Shady Grove student chapter of the Council for Exceptional Children.

Pre-registration is required. Space is limited to the first 80 people who return the pre-registration form.
